 Official Recordal of Software and Databases
LAW OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION ON THE LEGAL PROTECTION OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS AND DATABASES No. 3523-1 of September 23, 1992 with changes and amendments* introduced by the Federal Law No. 177-FL on December 24, 2002 shall govern the relations deriving from legal protection and exploitation of computer programs and databases.
Information Required for Preparing Documents for the Official Recordal of a Database
- The company's full name – or the applicant's surname, first name and patronymic (if applicable);
- The applying company's legal address or the applicant-individuals' home address, his telephone number and fax (if available) ;
- The address for correspondence ;
- The applying company's managing officer's indication , surname, first name and patronymic (if applicable) ;
- The Database authors':
- surname, first name and patronymic (if applicable) ;
- date of birth;
- nationality;
- home address, tel.;
- The title of the database ( full and abbreviated title if appropriate );
- The date of the completion of the database ;
- A brief description of each author's contribution into the creation of a database ( specifying particular database parts created by respective authors and percentage of each author's contribution);
- A copy of the original text ( any 70 pages at Applicant's choice numbered starting from p. 2; the numeration does not have to be identical to that in the original text). Original document margins must be of the following sizes: left margin – 20 mm, right margin – 17 mm, the upper and bottom margins – each 7 mm (minimum);
- An abstract in two copies.
- The abstract volume must not exceed 700 characters – about half-page ).

- The applying company's head's position, surname, first name and the father's name;
- The address for correspondence ;
- The authors of software' :
- surname, first name and patronymic (if applicable) ;
- date of birth;
- nationality;
- home address, tel.;
- The title of software ( full and abbreviated title if appropriate );
- The previous or an alternative title of software ;
- The date of the completion of software;
- A brief description of each author's contribution into the creation of a software ( specifying particular software parts created by respective authors and percentage of each author's contribution);
- A copy of the original text ( any 50 pages at Applicant's choice numbered starting from p. 2; the numeration does not have to be identical to that in the original text). Original document margins must be of the following sizes : left margin – 20 mm , right margin – 17 mm, the upper and bottom margins – each 7 mm (minimum);
- An abstract in two copies.
- The volume of the abstract must not exceed 700 characters – half-page ) and include the following information: the purpose of the software, it's functional support the manifested result , the mode of launching , the indication of a version , etc.
